Our story
The CO₂llectief Foundation was established with the conviction that everyone plays an important role in keeping our planet livable. Everyone can contribute, not by pointing fingers at each other but by taking action themselves.
At the same time, we see that the world is complex. What should you do next? And how do you know if your contribution really makes a difference? It can feel like the problem is too big and that you are alone, while in reality, there is a large group of people who do want to do something.
With the CO₂llectief Foundation, we want to bring together this silent majority. We combine individual contributions into a clear course of action around CO₂ removal. Moreover, it is an action that everyone can support, regardless of personal circumstances or lifestyle.
With this voluntary willingness to take collective action, we also send a strong, positive, and encouraging signal. We do not set standards and do not strive for perfection, but only for a positive impact. In this way, we gather the silent majority, from small to larger contributions, and together we create real impact.
Our mission
Our mission is to take the initiative together in combating climate change. The current climate policy is not progressing quickly enough, and this affects us all. We will not accept this but want to take our responsibility together.
With CO₂ removal through the CO₂llectief, we make this responsibility concrete. CO₂ removal makes it possible to make a climate impact now. This creates an accessible scope for action for everyone who wants to take responsibility.
The collective effort also has a clear signaling function. It shows that there is societal support for CO₂ removal and that we find it reasonable for the costs of CO₂ emissions to be included as part of the climate solution.
In this way, the collective contributes to stronger climate policy and to the acceleration of innovation in CO₂ low products and CO₂ removal techniques.
The CO₂llectief Foundation builds on the knowledge gained from CO₂ removal through the Sinkit cooperative. In this collaboration, we have gained experience over the past three years across the entire value chain: from techniques and certification to the practical challenges of producing biochar. However, as the necessity and existence of CO₂ removal remain unknown, the question lingers. We aim to bring about change with the CO₂llectief.
For this reason, the CO₂llectief Foundation focuses on taking our collective responsibility and thus supporting and further helping to grow the entire CO₂ removal sector.

ANBI status Collective
Update 9-12-25: The recognition of the ANBI status is currently being processed.
We have submitted the application for ANBI status and it is currently being processed. This recognition confirms that we are fully committed to the public good, and that more than 90% of your contribution goes towards actively reducing the CO₂ concentration in the atmosphere through transparent, long-term CO₂ removal projects.
An ANBI status also means that you can get back a significant part of your contribution when you file your tax return. If you are planning to contribute at least 50 euros per year for a minimum of 5 years, then you can deduct this contribution from your income tax. That makes a big difference!
